PURPOSE: This research was to understand the relationship between grip force and weight of tennis racket for junior tennis players. METHOD: Twenty-five junior tennis players were voluntarily recruited in this study. The researchers taked the Ert300 tennis computer to measure the netters strength of the racket when recording the racket weight. On the other hand, the grip force was taken measurement with Jamar Dynamometer for three times, and the same time to record both hands force. RESULTS: The result found that the racket weight was positive correlated with height, weights, age, grip force of dominant and non- dominant hands, and sum of both hand grip force. But it was not correlated with string strength of racket. Then, by the step- wise regression analysis, only grip force of non- dominant hands was be select into significantly variable parameter. CONCLUSION: The study was revealed the tennis players' body type, age, and grip force were highly correlated with the racket weight. The grip force of non-dominant hands was mainly estimated racket weight. We suggests that the coaches, players or trainers needed considerate the grip force of non-dominant hands to select appropriate weight of the racket for junior tennis players.
