Southern Region Water Resources Office, WRA, MOEA started a project to reduce the sedimentation in Agondian reservoir from 1996 to 2005. The project includes the dredging of the reservoir and reconstruction of spillway. The capacity reach 18.37 million cube meter after dredging. The empty flushing operation start with the reconstruction of spillway. To understand the effect of empty flushing, the rainfall, water level, inflow and outflow of the reservoir is recorded. On the other hand, the measure of the reservoir terrain was taken before and after the empty flushing operation every year. The result shows as follow, (1) the deposition rate decreased to 204.8 thousand million cube meter from 415.5 thousand million cube meter. (2) the effect is highly related with water level in the reservoir, under EL30m is suggested to increase the effect of empty flushing.
