The aging population is the trend of the world, socio-demographic structure in Taiwan, also is entering an aging society, and Taiwan's population aging faster rate than Europe and America. Population aging is the inevitable trend of the future, so the garment industry in response to structural changes in the consumption of the aging population, also when thinking long-term coping strategies. Women baby boomers are the most aware of their own existence, rich savings generations, therefore, in response to senior consumer market, the silver-haired aging population social structure formed, clothing design must be able to simultaneously correct grasp the pulse of the community and consumers, at the same time in a manner consistent with the consumer's lifestyle positioning to be innovative design, which is designed to explore this study. The sample of this pilot study consisted of midlife and older women aged above 50. The design study is to use "Smart clothing" that is able to sense stimuli from the human body, to react to them and adapt to them by integration of functionalities in the clothing structure. Two components need to be present in the clothing structure in order to bear the full mark of smart clothing: a sensor and a transmission system. Also the smart clothing is possible, which is expected to be functional as well as fashionable. The smart clothing uses conventional materials and components and adapts the electronics design to fit in the external elements. It can be considered as e-apparel, where electronics are added to the clothing. Finally, smart clothing could be sold as a gadget, where the intelligent character will be more a clothing.
