An outbreak of COVID-19 in December 2019 in Wuhan, Republic of China spread to Asia, America, Europe and Oceania. Taiwan effectively and quickly responded to and controlled the outbreak in COVID-19, minimizing the impact of the outbreak on people's daily lives. Elderly long-term care facilities are high-risk places that can lead to outbreaks of COVID-19, with serious consequences due to the older age of senior persons living in long-term care facilities and accompanied with chronic diseases of the institutional dwellers. Therefore, the outbreak of new crown pneumonia needs to be effectively prevented, in order to maintain a good lifestyle and maintain good hygiene habits for the elderly person. Wearing medical mask properly when necessary and capability building of the institutional staff and maintain environmental hygiene at all times to prevent outbreaks of this new infectious disease.
