Four musical ability tests-Tonal Discrimination Test, Tonal memory Test, Consonanceanalysis Test, and Rhythem Memory Test-were administered to 117 undergraduate students, which were divided into the music-major and general groups, and 223 Junior high school students, which were divided into the chorus and general groups. The musical ability of Junior high school students was found to be inferior to undergraduate students. Among undergraduate students the music-major group showed better musical ability than the general group. Among Junior high school students, the musical ability of the chorus group was superior to the general group.
