Information service, one of the major activities of a modern library, is the most direct, effective and efficient method of social education to the public. In the past few years, the government here has promoted to develop cultural and educational undertakings aggressively. Accordingly, the municipal library-centered culture centers spring up like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. The public library in Taiwan have shown an unprecedentedly grand scene. The definition, work flow of the information service, and the network to be established are discussed in details.
