     本報告為一長期縱貫研究資料的一部份。此研究之目的在於透過幼兒於自然情境中說話的錄音資料分析中國幼兒學習國語的初期歷程。研究對象(四名)於研究開始時間的平均年齡為14個半月。研究者於一年中對此四名幼兒作十次觀察錄音。覺察之間隔為三至四星期每次觀察時間為一小時半至兩小時,地點為幼兒家中。本報告的分析資料是整體資料中幼兒說單詞的部份。分析架構採用Greenfelt與Smith(1976)分析幼兒語意的方法,將幼兒單詞期之語意歸納成13類。結果顯示四位幼兒語意類別出現之順序大體相當一致。即行動功能類(如,伴隨行動、表達意願的單詞)最早出現,表達東西與動作關係的詞類次之,但屬於此類的某些詞(如主事者,受事者及客體)卻幾乎沒有出現過。再次出現者為兩種東西之間的關係的詞(如位置、聯想物、聯想者等)。最後出現的是修飾情境的詞,此順序與Greenfield與Smith所發現的英文順序大體一致。另外資料中顯示幼兒此時已能回答中文「v-不-v」的問句。幼兒似乎在最開始說話時對中文此類問句已有相當了解並理解問與答之間的關係。
     This report presents a part of the data of a longitudinal study which attempts to delineatethe initial stages of Chinese children's acquisition of Chinese Mandarin through recording of young children's conversation in naturalistic environment. Our subjects consisted four children whose mean age was 14 month at the beginning of the study. Over a period of one year,ten recordings of their utterances were made for each child with three to four weeks ofinterval between consective recordings. The recordings were made in subject's own home. The present report deals with the semantic relations of the single word utterances of these children. The analysis was based on the framework reported by Greenfild and Smith (1976) who classified early semantic relations into 13 basic categories. Our data indicated that the order of acquisition of semantic relations by these children was fairly constant when onegroups the 13 relations into four basic classes. The first class to appear included performative, volition and performative objects. This was followed by action, or state of agent and Stateof object. Agent, object and dative did not appear. The third class includes words relatingan object with a location or another object. The last class of word to appear has to do withmodification of events. This order of appearance agrees with that found for English in general. In addition, our data indicated that Chinese children at this stage had initial comprehension of the Chinese interrogative form "V-not-V" (somewhat analogous to English yes/no questions) for children were able to answer such questions addressed to them.
