本文之研究目的有二，一爲研討各類文獻以了解地圖學和地圖之新定義；再者以數值地圖研究者之立場來作綜合論述，期能透過本文，以認知地圖學在現今資訊科設時代中之能因及重心。

The aims of this paper are two-subject. These explores that the various issues to redefine cartography and maps and to summarise them as a researcher of digit al cartography. It is hopeful to arriving at the field and focus of cartography in this age of information technology.
