本研究調查台灣資訊/電子、食品、紡織等產業的中大型廠商之製造目標、製造競爭能力、製造改進活動與製造主管參與決策現況。結果顯示,台灣廠商普遍重視製造部門在準時交貨、迅速交貨,與供應不良品率低的產品等方面的能力,同時,除了資訊/電子廠商在迅速交貨方面以外,這些廠商也自認在上述三個競爭要項上具有相對強勢。 除了上述三項普遍受到重視的製造目標之外,廠商所重視的其他製造目標似乎受到產品特性的影響。同時,廠商在競爭要項上的製造競爭能力普遍都未達到製造目標的要求,為使每一個競爭要項上,廠商的能力儘可能符合製造目標的要求,達到「全方位競爭」的效果,三個產業在提供低價格的產品及迅速引進新產品的能力上都應再加強。 目前三個產業皆大力推動的製造改進活動色括品質制度的建立、人員激勵方案、及訂定製造策略等方面的活動,縮減產能、新技術的引進與現場品管方面的活動則較不積極。值得一提的是製造策略的觀念已經受到廣泛的重視。就產業差異來觀察,推動製造改進活動最積極的是資訊/電子業,食品業稍差,紡織業則明顯的落後其他二產業。在製造主管參與決策的程度方面也有同樣的結果,最重視製造部門中階主管意見的為資訊/電子業,其次分別為食品、紡織業。似乎愈重視製造主管意見的公司愈積極推動改進活動。
This paper investigates the actual manufacturing strategies of Taiwanese firms in the computer & electronics, food & beverage, and textile industries. The issues studied in this research include the relative importance and strengths of competitive priorities, and the implementations of action programs. The results sh9W that the most important competitive priorities in these industries are on-time deliv-ery, fast delivery, and low-defect products. Meanwhile, many firms have relative strengths in these priorities. The most active programs implemented includes ddeveloping quality management systems, moti-vating workers, and linking manufacturing strategy to business strate-gy.
