There are two emphases in interpreting "society": seeing it as a group in which many individuals live together, and as a social reality comprised of more than simply individuals in collection. Based on his own experience of study and research in the fields of sociology and anthropology, the author reviews the development of his understanding of "society", arguing that community study should take the above two views together and limit itself to studying social structure. More attention should be paid to the socialization of individuals; moreover, form ecological and behavioral to psychomental approaches, scholars and learn much about people and their relationships from the experiences of the ancient Chinese.
