The new trend of multimedia (which is usually classified in the field of non-book material), brings to libraries both technical and non-technical problem. Author tried to share his experience at National Central University Library (where they try to bring some innovative ideas to build up a Multimedia CD-ROM/CD Titles Library). Hopefully, this experience can help other librarians to find some solutions on providing multimedia service, thus, encourge more and more libraries start to think about providing multimedia service. Technical issues including: multimedia definition and function, type and sources, acquision and channel, method of organizing multimedia data, environment (hardware and software) preparation, troubles and error handling during using multimedia, promotion, and ways that libraries can apply multimedia....etc. Non-technical issues including: lending and circulation problems, personnel training and requirements....etc.
