Since 1972, the interlibrary loan among scientific libraries and information centers have
been gradually developed. It is obvious that interlibrary cooperation will play more important role
in the electronic age. This article starts with an overview of the resources sharing activities in
Taiwan. Factors regarding cooperation and the impact of document delivery are discussed. Library
networking and the related issues in the USA, UK, Japan and the Mainland China are presented.
Suggestion are made for the improvement of the current practice.
