Corrosive injury results from swallowing a chemical corrosive by mistake or suicide. More than 80% of patients would be left with esophageal stricture, even more dysphagia. They must rely on ostomy feeding to nourish take after taking Esophageal Dilatiation or Esophageal Reconstruction. It would be painful and last a long time. Our focus is to introduce the variety and action of corrosives, the degree of injury; the pathological change of each sstage; and the signs, symptoms, complications, then the principle of how to deal with them; further providing the suitable nursing care to ameliorate patients' condition. We hope these will be useful in clinical nursing.
