「人民日報」原本是地方報，自1949年中共正式成立後，一躍而為全大陸銷路最 廣的報紙，「人民日報索引」則是 1960 年 12 月開始問世直到現在。為了適應實際的需要 ，二十餘年來其分類法先後有三次改變。本文希望經一番整理後，一窺其發展與演進，並做 為國人他日分編報紙索引的借鏡。他山之石可以攻錯，此之謂也。

　　　　　REMIN RIBAO is originally only a local newspaper. However, it has been expanded and changed to be the most popular-selling one in 1949 since People's Republic of China established its regime. REMIN RIBAO INDEX was published in Dec. 1960 up to now. For necessary, there are three-time large changes in the area of classification in the period of twenty years. We hope to understand its past events and development by the way of classifying all the relevent matering. Moreover, we hope to learn some valuable experience from it. It goes saying in the Chinese proverb "We can learn something from somebody else."
