     身體器官功能會因年齡老化而衰退,特別是糖的容忍度、最大心肺容量、石跳數、心動容量及心輸出量等,但是血壓卻增加了。研究發現,凡年齡超過60歲者,會因身體老化增加罹患心肌梗塞、糖尿病、高血壓及骨骼疏鬆症,甚至造成死亡。由於生理老化速度會因個人生活習慣,有所不同,因此多數人相信,唯有透過運動和食物控制,才能有效抑制器官老化速度,及改善老年人生活品質。
     Aging results in the function or capacity of almost every organ system. Especially in the older adults, glucose tolerance, maximal work capacity, maximal heart rate, stroke volume, and cardiac output are decreased and systolic and diastolic blood pressures are increased. Those who are over 60yrs will take the risk of having higher mortality and morbidity of atherosclerotic heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and osteoporosis. Aging speed is concerned with living pattern which are versatile in humanbeings. Therefore, most believe that exercise training and diet controlling appear to effectively retard the decline speed of organ systems and improve the quality of life in the aged people.
