In the electronic age, one of the many challenges that educators confront is how to apply new technologies effectively and creatively to attain curriculum goals. In Taiwan, the new curriculum for elementary education has been used for only one semester. The contents of social studies curriculum differ from former curriculums. This article attempts to investigate the existing computerized materials on social studies curriculum and discuss how the computer can integrate the social studies curriculum into elementary schools. It also points out directions to improve the utilization of computer technology.
