This paper investigates in an all-round way the original edition of Huang Ti Nei Ching Su Wen, an ancient Chinese medical book, and its subsequent editions during the next two thousands years. The paper mainly focuses on a period before printing had been invented. In this paper 1 restore the original contents of Chuan Yuan-chi's annotated edition of the Sui Dynasty; I investigate the remaining editions of Su Wen in the Tun Huang Scrolls that have been collected by different countries and I evaluate Wang Ping's annotated edition from the Tang Dynasty. At the same time I trplose why Su Wen was paid great attention by the government in the Sung Dynasty. Lastly, this paper summarizes the block-printed editions of Su Wen and their publications in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and the remaining current editions now.
