本文概述人文學之意義、性質與學科範圍，探討人文學者之學衛研究與資訊需求，討論資訊技術在人文學之應用，介紹西洋人文學重要電子資訊，選介西洋人士學各學科電子資訊，最後試論西洋人文學電子資訊之未來發展：建立電子全文資料庫與影像檔、改良檢索語詞典語言系統、加速圖書資料數位化、整理網路資源。

　　This paper is to state the meaning, the nature, and the subject fields of the Humanities; to discuss the scholars' research and information needs of the Humanities; to study the application of the information technology to the Humanities; and to introduce some important electronic information in general and in the subject fields of the Humanities. This paper indicates the future developments of the electronic information in the humanities as follows; to construct electronic full text database and image file; to improve retrieval vocabulary and language system; to speed up the digitalization of library materials; and to organize the Internet resources.
