本文針對中國大陸教育問題及教育問題中最受爭議的課題，進行檢討，並予剖析 。文中把大陸教育問題總括為六大熱點問題，包括：二○○○年在全大陸基本普及九年義務 教育的信心問題、中小學亂收費、擇校生高收費的問題、由應試教育向素質教育轉變的問題 、高等職業教育改革與發展的問題、高等教育管理體制改革的問題、以及依法保障教育投入 的問題等。雖然這六大課題目前面臨某種程度的爭議，而在推展中也不是很順利，但都已在 中共教育當局的正面處理之下。

　　　　　This article is intended to dip into the most controversial issues and problems regarding education in Mainland China at the present time. These issues and problems have been summarized into six conspicuous categories, namely: issues and problems on nine-year compulsory education; mal-charged fees on tuition and selective enrollment for students of elementary and junior high schools; transformation from examination-oriented education to quality- oriented education; the reform and development of higher vocational education; reform of the administrative system of higher education; and educational investment. Obviously, these issues and problems have been thoroughly handled by the beijing government, although they have been by no means handled satisfactorily. Its handling of these issues and problems is in itself a good sign, however.
