　　　　　如何在推展國家經濟發展的同時，又能獲致政治穩定，從而以此為基礎，確保經濟發展的成果，向為任何國家，特別是開發中國家，所不遺餘力急欲解決的主要問題之一。本文之研究，即旨在探討經濟發展對政治穩定有什麼影響？又如何影響？經文獻分析結果顯示，經濟發展對政治穩定的影響，並非是一種直線的關係，而是一種複雜的曲線關係，亦即經濟的不斷增長未必會必然帶來等量的政治穩定。具體言之，經濟發展固然可能為政治穩定，提供先決條件與雄厚的物質基礎；但是經濟發展過程的本身，尤其是快速的經濟成長，如果沒有相適應的政治與社會條件相配合，亦可能破壞政治穩定。

　　　　　The problem of how to promote simultaneously the level of economic development and the level of political stability has been greatly concerned by all the countries, especially the developing countries. This study therefore tries to shed some light on the question of whether economic development will be positively beneficial of harmful to the realization of political stability. The result of this study indicates that the economic system and political system are obviously interdependent parts of a single society and that the relationship between the levels of economic development and political stability is curvilinear, rather than linear. To be explicit, though, to a certain extent, the level of economic development correlated positively with political development, economic growth not necessarily brings political stability. Rapid economic growth also can be a profoundly destabilizing force.
