　　　　　本研究主要目的在探討影響選擇船員為職業的重要因素，並且嘗試以這些因素為 基礎，預測相關科系準畢業生的職業選擇行為。研究首先經由文獻整理出可能的影響因素， 並且分別檢驗各因素的差異是否影響船員職業之選擇，最後再以這些具有顯著差異的變數為 基礎，建立預測船員職業選擇的區別分析函數。研究結果發現，除了個人的工作價值觀外， 其所處的社會系絡對於職業選擇行為亦有顯著的影響力，在區別分析中也進一步驗證了此一 因果關聯。
　　　　　The purpose of this research is to explore major determinants of seafarers' occupational choice and trys to build a general discriminant function to predict occupational choice behavior. By reviewing related researches, individual factors and social context were thought to have potential effect on occupational choice. From these two categories, we then summarized three variables: work value, characteristics of social information, and social status as predictors of seafarers' occupational choice.
