The incidence of cancer in children is on the increase these years. Although great improvement in the cure rate has been made, some child patients still have to face the end of life early. The concept of hospice care is getting popular recently, and the hospice care for children can not be overlooked, either. In addition to the child patient's body, mind, and soul, concern of the whole family is included. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate common physiologic problems of dying children, reactions and thoughts when facing death, and coping methods by family, we also hope it will be a reference for nurses in their clinical practice.
