Based upon the World 3 Theory of Karl Popper, this article elucidates
six scientific knowledge organization systems, which includes scientific
literature, scientific terms, disciplinary system, survey (review, assessment
and forecasting included), artificial intelligence system and cyberspace system.
The author also clarifies the interrelationship among the six systems,
introduces the skills of scientific knowledge organization, such as subject
analysis, knowledge analysis, and information analysis, and uses examples to
articulate the knowledge framework that is the tool for organizing the
knowledge. Finally, the author presents the current status of Taiwan's
scientific knowledge organization systems, and raises an warning of cultural
degeneration for lacking the above mentioned scientific knowledge organization
systems.
