The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that were considered by the tourists when they decided to take the shuttle bus in Yangmingshan National Park. By reviewing the literature, this research examined possible effects of riding choice behavior from tourists' socio- economics characteristics and recreation characteristics. The data were collected on-site and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, t- test, and discriminant analysis. The results are summarized as follows: The personal socio-economic characteristics which affect the riding behavior are〝 sex,〞〝residence〞and〝whether the tourists own the driver license or vehicle〞. The trip characteristics which affect the riding behavior are〝type of companion,〞〝activity engaged,〞〝recreation spot visited〞and〝travel mode〞.〝The number of the companion,〞〝whether companioned by young child,〞 〝the tourists' familiarity with the shuttle bus〞and〝whether the tourists go another place except Yangmingshan Nation Park in their course〞are also important factors. The attributes of the shuttle bus in the riding behavior predicting model are〝whether the information about the shuttle bus are offered enough,〞〝whether stops anywhere and anytime,〞〝whether the bus goes through the destination〞and〝how long does it take to wait for the bus〞.
