目的：探討實習醫師選擇精神科為將來執業之動機及其影響之因素，進一步分析 其背後相關的社會涵意，以做為將來擬定策略提昇醫學生選擇精神科為業動機的參考。方 法：分發共包括調查對精神疾病之態度、基本資料和影響從事精神醫療工作意願之可能因 素三大部份的問卷給120位實習醫師填寫。回收之資料以有無意願從事臨床精神醫療工作分 成兩組進行比較。結果：共回收102份（回收率85%），有意願從事精神醫療臨床工作的實 習醫師比無意願者在「對精神病人之態度是否慈善」和「對精神病人之社區包容性」方面 有較正向的態度。此外，其他影響之因素包括「家人是否支持」、「學校課程及見實習之 影響」、「社會尊敬程度」、及「收入高低」等。結論：醫學生在考慮是否選擇從事精神 醫療工作時，受到外來和內在多重因素影響。由於受到不同文化、時代背景及社會型態的 影響，若干出現在國外報導中有關影響實習醫師選擇精神科執業之因素在本研究中並無此 發現。

　　　　　Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the factors which influence the decision of medical interns to choose psychiatry as their medical specialty, and to generate strategies to encourage interns to become psychiatrists. Methods: A total of one hundred and twenty interns were assessed using the questionnaires covering the areas of attitude toward mental illness and possible factors influencing the decision to choose psychiatry as their future career. These factors were analyzed between those who expressed interest or lack of interest. Results: Among the 102 interns who completed the questionnaire (85%), those who showed interest in psychiatry demonstrated a positive attitude toward accepting and being kind to psychiatric patients. Significant factors in the decision to choose psychiatry included family support, curriculum and internship in psychiatry, social respect and income. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the decision by interns to choose psychiatry as their future career is affected by multiple internal and external factors. Significant factors that were reported in the literature from western populations, such as interest in social science and anxiety in facing death were not found in this study. This appears to have been primarily due to the difference in socio-culture background and the demand for psychiatrists at the time the studies were conducted.(Full Text in Chinese)
