九○年代起，綠色環保概念已為世人關注之焦點，而綠色設計也是吾人邁入二十一世紀之際，重要的議題之一。相較於國外之研究，國內對於綠色設計之推動尚屬萌芽階段。由於國內相關法令無法對業者產生約束，而消費者在日常生活中也未建立正確之環保概念使得綠色設計僅能流於討論與形式。然而，身為工業設計師，實應本其專業智能與道德，開發符合環保概念綠色產品，引領企業與消費者邁入綠色環保的時代。 本研究之主要目的旨在藉由文獻調查研究，探討綠色設計之方法與設計策略，尤以針對工業設計中產品結構設計部分加以討論，並藉由設計個--電腦網路集線器，說明綠色設計過程中材料、製程之選擇與評估；產品結構之組裝與拆解性；產品零組件之回收與分類以及最終設計案之評估。

　　　　　Environmental protection has been a critical issue in recent years and many countries have set regulations in regarding to product manufacturing and packaging. From the design point of view, how to minimize the overall impacts to the environment across the entire product life cycle has been the major theme for the industrial designers. The methodology of this study is to review literature about green design. Some guidelines, related to green design principles, material selection, production and mechanical design, have been drawn to provide industrial designers as references when they are undertaken green design practices. A case study on computer Ethernet hub design, applying green design principles, is discussed. And the final design shows great improvements on product structures, the utlise of recycling material, assembly and disassembly procesures.
