This paper explores the construction of Shipai Campus of National Sun Yat-sen University Library. It analyzes its design plans both before and after the Anti-Japanese War in the aspects of siting,building appearance and spatial layout;and elaborates how its exterior look changes from traditional Chinese style to modern style,and the layout of its collection space changes from the stacked mode to intensive rear-placed mode. The author conducts a historical evaluation to the architectural design of the library in Shipai campus and summarizes the tough construction process of university library in modern China.
