1996年美國LEEP線上教育實驗計劃成功,開啟圖書館與資訊科學線上教育紀元。我國臺灣2009年開辦圖書館與資訊科學線上教育。數位學習風潮席卷全球,對圖書館與資訊科學教育有何影響以及未來發展均是重要研究議題。文章旨在探討美國與中國臺灣圖書館與資訊科學線上教育,研究目的包括:(1)探討圖書館與資訊科學線上教育意涵;(2)探討美國圖書館與資訊科學線上教育制度;(3)探討臺灣圖書館與資訊科學線上教育制度;(4)調查美國與中國臺灣圖書館與資訊科學線上碩士班現況;(5)探討美國與中國臺灣圖書館與資訊科學線上碩士班評鑒。研究結果顯示:美國發展出40所經學會認證的圖書館與資訊科學線上碩士班,在全球教育居領先地位,臺灣也有政治大學與淡江大學二所圖書館與資訊科學線上碩士班。美國圖書館與資訊科學線上教育評鑒采用認可制,臺灣采用品質保證制,各具特色,皆展現線上教育藉由評鑒以保證其品質與教育成效。
Since the success of the LEEP online education project in the United States in 1996, the online education era of library and information science has begun. Taiwan has also started online education in library and information science since 2009. The wave of digital learning has swept across the world. The impact on library and information science education and its future development are important research topics. The article aims to explore the online education of library and information science in the U.S. and Taiwan,China. The research objectives include:(1) to explore the implications of online education in library and information science;(2) to explore the U.S.library and information science online education system;(3) to explore the online education system of Taiwan’s library and information science;(4) to investigate the current state of the online master’s program in library and information science in the U.S. and Taiwan,China;(5) to explore the evaluation of online master’s programs in the U.S.and Taiwan,China in library and information science. The study shows that the U.S. has developed 40 online master’s programs in library and information science that have been accredited by the American Library Association. The U.S. has a leading position in global education. Taiwan also has online master’s programs in library and information science at the Chengchi University and Tamkang University. The U.S. library and information science online education evaluation system adopts an accreditation system. Taiwan adopts a quality assurance system,and each has its own advantages. Both of them ensure their quality and educational effectiveness by evaluation.
