In China,the growth of reading promotion demands more from reading promoters. Faced with a total of more than fourteen hundred million audiences and about three hundred million target populations,current reading training mechanism focusing on short-term training fails to provide the sufficient and qualified reading promoters to meet the sustainable development of reading promotion business, which is the main reason for developing professional education for reading promoter. This paper advocates that library community develop the professional education for reading promoter,since the library has always been the main power to promote nationwide reading;and the professional education concerning reading promotion should have a place in library science and be well developed.
