In this paper,behavioral data related to micro-blog users in academic communication are obtained through a well-structured questionnaire survey, and user behavior, informal communication and the impact of micro-blog on academic information exchange are under discussion. The behavior of micro-blog users mainly includes following, comment, posting and so on. There is a trend of transition between formal and informal academic information communication. Micro-blog plays a positive role in academic information exchange in terms of information acquisition and communication effects. However, there is room for improvement in information quality and intellectual property protection in micro-blog.
