俄國文學是俄羅斯民族意識的集中體現,是俄羅斯民族意識的最大公約數,俄國文學發展史上的幾次繁榮大多出現在俄羅斯民族意識的高漲期,在俄國文學和俄羅斯民族意識兩者之間始終存在著積極的相互作用,兩者間源遠流長的互動既造就了俄國文學的獨特內涵和風貌,也使俄國文學成了"俄羅斯性"的重要塑造手段和表達方式,從而構建出俄羅斯民族的"文學的想象共同體",并促成了俄國文化中的"文學中心主義現象"。

Russian literature is the concentrated expression and the greatest common divisor of Russian national consciousness. The boom periods of Russian literature were historically synchronized with upsurges of Russian national consciousness, and there is always an active interaction between them. Such interaction has created the special content and form of Russian literature and impelled it to become the principal expressive means and descriptive method of national consciousness, thereby fostering the "literocentrism" of Russian culture and building the literary "imagined community" of the Russian people.
