In making the transition from jurisprudence of interests( Interessenjurisprudenz) to value jurisprudence( Wertungsjurisprudenz),Harry Westermann is the "pathfinder". He developed the doctrine of "three-level construction of norms"for deciding individual case. After Westermann,Heinrich Hubmann proposed his view of "the teleological-normative balance of interests",Rudolf Reinhardt attempted to explore "the methods of finding correct law ",and Josef Esser was committed to"finding a just decision in a specific case". In 1963,Karl Larenz published the methodology of legal science, which to some extent changed the theoretical faces of value jurisprudence and legal methodology, and made German jurisprudence take an important step forward at the technical level of general jurisprudence. In addition,Franz Wieacker,Arthur Kaufmann,Reinhold Zippelius et al.,made theoretical contributions to value jurisprudence and legal methodology respectively in post-war Germany. In conclusion, contemporary jurists mostly are living under the gorgeous light of Value Jurisprudence, and the German jurisprudence entered "the age of value jurisprudence".
