Marxism’s understanding of national question forms a systematic theory. It is not a rigid theory, rather,it is based on specific revolutionary stages and it sees nationalism by a historical and developmental view. Poland and South Slavs were treated differently by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, which fully shows that Marxism’s evaluation criterion of concrete national movement is whether it is beneficial to social development and proletarian revolution.
