The purpose of this study is to develop a reliability and validity of college students’ the positive emotion scale. A questionnaire survey was conducted in this study. The first data obtained from 600 students was employed to test the reliability and validity of all scales. The second data from 1219 students was meant to analyze the interaction in different demographic variables in 3 dependent variables. The study constructed 3 kinds of group norm table. The samples completed self-report instruments including Basic Data Questionnaire, Pleasure Scale and Flow Scale. Data obtained from Pearson product-moment correlation Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Multiple-group Analysis and two way MANOVA.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
1. The scale was the second-order factors model-3, including lower-level pleasure, higher-level pleasure and flow.
2. The scale were appropriate to evaluate college students’ positive emotion and it possessed high internal consistency reliability, high stability cross-validity, a significant different discriminate validity and gender invariance.
3. The college students’ lower-level pleasure differed according to gender; their higher-level pleasure differed according to exercise frequency, religion types and cost of living; their flow differed according to exercise frequency and cost of living; their higher-level pleasure and flow had a significant difference between exercise frequency and cost of living.
4. The study constructed 3 kinds of group norm table, including Percentile Rank Table, Interquartile Range Table and Standard Scores Table.
According to the findings and conclusions, this study proposed the suggestions for colleges, college students, enterprise select and future studies.
