本研究探討家庭社經地位、家長參與學習與能力分組的關係,驗證社經地位變項是否會透過家長參與學習這項中介變項,進而影響到子女在學校的安置結果。本研究採用相關研究法,以臺灣地區國中生為研究對象,共回收有效問卷1,347份,剔除未實施能力分組的樣本,有效樣本共計908人,經統計分析得到以下結果: 1. 家庭社經地位與能力分組有顯著的相關。 2. 社經地位越高的家庭越常參與子女學習活動。 3. 家長參與子女學習活動越高,子女安置在高能力組的機會越大。 4. 家庭社經地位、家長參與學習對能力分組有顯著的區別能力。 本研究最後再根據研究結果提出實務工作及進一步研究建議。
This study explores the relationship among family socioeconomic status, parent involvement and ability grouping. The primary focus is to investigate whether the impact of family SES on children's placement at junior high schools can be explained by parental involvement. A sample of 1347 middle school students was randomly selected in Taiwan. Among them, only 908 cases whose schools adopt ability grouping were selected. There are four findings in this article. First of all, parents' education level and family SES are significantly correlated with their children's placement in ability grouping. Second, parents with high family SES are more involved in their children's education. Third, children of parents who are highly involved in their children's education tend to have better opportunity to be placed in high ability group. Fourth, family SES and parental involvement can predict students' placements in ability grouping.
