In this article, we will first start from how the historical background affects Eileen Chang's Novel "The Spy Ring", and from which angle that director Ang Lee's sees Eileen Chang so as to discuss further the film which he has interpreted-"Lust, Caution". The characters and focused issues, after several interpretations, "Lust, Caution" have been diverged from the true story "the assassination of the spy Ting"; meanwhile, both the personality and the plot development are also quite different between the film and the novel. To understand subtle meaning in Chang's Novel "The Spy Ring" and analyze the infiltration between the literary work "The Spy Ring" and the film "Lust, Caution", We will adopt interaction with texts in Intertextuality theory and break boundary between studies. Moreover, except for the protagonists Mr. Yee and Wang Jiazhi, the supporting roles such as Kuang Yu Min and Mrs. Yee have been often ignored by researchers; nevertheless, Lee pictures interactions between the above supporting roles and Wang Jiazhi, which is one of the issues among this article. Besides portrayal of the characters, what Lee brings about in "Lust, Caution", human nature and betrayal, are also points in the following article. By filming "Lust, Caution", Lee reveals those parts the writer might imply but didn't show in the novel; by adapting the story, Lee makes characters’ emotion change and plot development become reasonable and logical, and thus the plot goes smoothly. In the end, we expect to return what Chang focuses, human nature, presenting human's indescribable contradiction, restoring complicated emotions beyond the novel by discarding history and sexual fallacy.
