Since the advancement of computer and other related technologies, the twenty-first century will become a century of information. In other words, those who control the information will possess the most advantages. Therefore, how to improve the information education has become an important issue in our country. Many European countries and the U.S.A. have determined that information education is an important part of their people's fundamental education, and the main goal is to increase their abilities to compete with other countries in the world by improving their people's computer skills and knowledge. Based on this observation, the Ministry of Education has boosted strongly the information education in colleges and also established Taiwan Academic Network (TANet), hoping that the whole task can be extended to elementary and high schools in our country. However, most elementary schools in Taiwan are still not ready to take their first step, and the major difficulties are lack of funding, teachers, and professional knowledge for the execution of this plan. This paper presents some solutions for the achievement of information education and office computerization in elementary schools. The reasons to combine these two parts as one task are: first, many teachers in elementary schools serve as office staffs and they have a lot of paper work to do every day; secondly, the students can actually see the usefulness of computer knowledge if office computerization is performed at their schools, which will increase their learning motivation in information courses.
