The author continues his concept of the space of flows, points out that it includes networks of interaction, nodes and hubs, and also made of habitats made for the social actors that operate the networks, and electric spaces. He added that the constitution of the logic of the space offlows was in itself a form of domination. Two major qualifications may be introduced: The space of flows includes places. It isn't simply an electronic space. Both Electronic spaces and the space of flows are not exclusively organized around and by social/economic/cultural domination. In the net, there is a big size elite and a social bias, and so on. Global elites ensure their domination in the spatial process, bypassing segmented locales. But Societies are always open processes, characterized by conflict. Wherever there is domination, there is resistance. The space of flows can be penetrated by resistance, and diversified in its meaning. The irruption of diversity, plurality of values and intents, in the net, the linkage between places and information flows, transforms the logic of the space of flows, and makes it a contested space. It's a new dynamics of interpenetration of uniformity and autonomy, of domination and resistance, of instrumentality and experience. The attempt by capital, media, and power to escape into the abstraction of the space of flows, bypassing democracy and experience by confining them in the space of places, is being challenges, from many sources, by the grassrooting of the space offlows.
