The main purpose of this dissertation is to deal with the problems under the fuzzy environment, especially, to try to find a good decision rule and valuable information to help the management to select an optimal strategy.
First this dissertation is going to explain the dif- erence between randomness and fuzziness. Second, we xtend the fuzzy numbers to generalized fuzzy numbers in rder to suit the general situations in life. By the way,the properties and formulae are obtained through the perations with Extension Principle of fuzzy numbers. hird, the concept of Maximizing set and Minimizing set re introduces as the criterion of ranking the order of eneralized fuzzy numbers; this method has improved upon he method of Jain. Fourth, the Function Principle is ntroduced as a new Principle of Operation of fuzzy num- ers. It provides that the type of membership function of uzzy numbers is preserved after the operation; moreover, he calculation of the operation is simple. By employing he Second Function Principle, the method of evaluation of n alternatives with fuzzy linear combination of fuzzy linear functions is used to deal with the estimated corresponding fuzzy quantities of the seven categories of the secretarial applicants'' questionnaire. Each category contains several items on the requirements of a secretar- ial applicant. Then, the criterion of total utility, by Maximizing Set and Minimizing Set, is used to rank the order of the obtained fuzzy quantities of ability of each secretarial applicant; it provides a reference formaking a choice.
The fuzzy questionnaire and the model of evaluation alternatives with fuzzy linear combination of fuzzy linear functions can also be used to evaluate the working efficiency of employees or to evaluate the suitability of job applicants.
