This thesis is concerned to establish a new framework to analyze the political development in the North Africa and East Asia countries, and to use the new framework to analyze the foreign policy of the late King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan toward the Republic of China.
The First Chapter clarifies relevant issues of the thesis. Chapter Two focuses on the framework of analyzing the political development in the North Africa and East Asia countries, and finds out the factors which affect the foreign policy of Jordan. Chapter Three presents the relationship between The Republic of China and The Kingdom of Jordan during the period of 1957-1970. Chapter Four describes why King Hussein wanted to keep the formal relationship with R.O.C. Chapter Five is about the interests gained by King Hussein from R.O.C, which were exactly what he planned and needed most. Chapter Six discusses the changes in international situation, and their effects on King Hussein. Chapter Seven profiles why King Hussein wants to establish a formal diplomatic relationship with P.R.C. Lastly, Chapter Eight deals with the strategy of King Hussein of trying to find out how he can play the tricks between the Republic of China and the People’s of Republic of China.
