With the ever intensive competition across industries, new product development has been increasingly viewed as strategic weapon for business to maintain long turn competitive edge. New product development (NPD) and commercialization of new technologies help firms streamline production, increase efficiency and revitalize industry life cycle. However, the antecedents of entrepreneurial orientation have been largely ignored. Furthermore, the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on technology commercialization in the NPD process has also caught much attention. Therefore, this study attempts to address these gaps proposes through developing a comprehensive research model which integrates relevant constructs. Through engaging in a series of expert interviews, case studies and questionnaire surveys, the research results confirm the important roles of the antecedents of entrepreneurial orientation from strategic and proclivity dimension. The results indicate that entrepreneurial orientation has significant influence on breakthrough innovation and technology commercialization. Furthermore, technology turbulence and tech-nology integration influence the moderate the influence of entrepreneurial orienta-tion on breakthrough innovation and technology commercialization. The results of this study would be useful and helpful for academics and parishioners to understand and guide entrepreneurial firm in the NPD process.
