According to the prior studies, a large stream of research has examined the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance. Interestingly and remarkably, the magnitude of the relationship seems to vary across studies. Consequently, some studies endeavored to figure out the moderation and mediation between them. However, among the research on the mediating mechanisms linking entrepreneurial orientation, social networks and performance, little has been done empirically to examine the mediating effect of dynamic capability. Accordingly, this study attempts to propose the integration research model by exploring the determinants that affect performance in the entrepreneurial process within the technology-based ventures.
With respect to methodology, this study adopts the mix methods approach which has two distinct stages that combine both qualitative with case studies and quantitative with questionnaires employed to the technology-based ventures. At the first stage, this study has utilized the case studies by in-depth interviews with semi-structural questionnaires to four entrepreneurs (or CEOs) of technology-based ventures; those of the interview results does not only enrich, validate theoretical framework developed in chapter 4 but collect detailed qualitative data from participants, which the pattern-matching approach was used to analyze the collected transcripts. Further, at the second stage, this research adopts survey study with structured questionnaires to test the theoretical framework for data collection as well as the samples were obtained from technology-based ventures in Taiwan. To conclude, this study contribute to combine both types of research data including qualitative and quantitative design at the analysis stages that applied the case studies to refine theoretical framework developed from the literature review as well as the survey data to test the generalization of the theoretical framework in this study.
