During the 1950s, an era when arts and literature were in service of the country (anti-communism and restoration of the country), how did the Taiwanese children readings present themselves in respond to such request? On the other hand, in a context which the development of art and literature was dictated by the political power and ruled by “Chineseization”, in what ways was the meaning of “Taiwan” in the children readings appropriated and displayed? Being the resources of enlightenment, children readings aided the children to acquire skills and knowledge at the various levels and significances through the action of reading and constructed a particular ideology through the nature of narrative strategies.
