This article is a research on the origin and development of Chinese characters. Its purpose is to explore the origin of Chinese characters. According to the handed down documents, the origin of characters comes from the three legendary figures Fuxi, Shennong and Cangjie. In terms of the inner text, Fuxi made the eight trigrams and the eight trigrams themselves. Can it be defined as text? Shennong’s knot is the rule. Why can the knot be not written?
