Emperor Qin Shihuang unified all China and adopted Li Si's suggestion to "oust those who did not merge with Qin writing". He commanded to unify the use of Qin writing. This policy was an important turning point in the development of Chinese writing. A large number of Qin bamboo slips have been unearthed for past few years This advanced the researchof ancient philology rapidly. However, a comprehensive study of the Qin bamboo slips is rare. If it can be analyzed from more thorough perspectives, the value of the Qin slips materials can be revealed.
The writing methods of small seal ( xiao zhuan), official script ( lishu ), and cursive script can be observed in the Qin bamboo slips. Through the comparison between Qin bamboo slips and contemporary scripts, it is possible to understand the writing differences of the characters in different regions and show the characteristics of the Qin bamboo slips. Furthermore, the consequence of wrong writing is often due to the impatient psychology of writhers in the process of the evolution of Chinese characters. The situation of characters in the Qin bamboo slips are especially obvious. It is helpful to clarify the misusing phenomenon of the ancient Chinese words by investigating those representative misinterpretation of the characters Therefore, this article mainly focuses on the research of "book style" to clarify the writing situation of Qin bamboo slips for a better understanding of the evolution of characters from the Warring States Period to the Qin Dynasty.
