The article "FengXuZhiMing" in " Tsinghua Bamboo Slips (Vol.5)" describes the issues related to Lv Ding receiving rewards from Zhou Cheng Wang. The structure of the article can be compared with the investiture’s literature, It begins with narration about achievements of recipient’s ancestors, followed by a eulogy for their dedication, an assignment of a new mission, the list of rewards, and ends with admonitions. It’s narrative style is similar to the structure of investiture inscriptions in the Western Zhou Dynasty. In addition, the reward items stated in "Feng Xu Zhi Ming":蒼珪(cāng guī) , 秬鬯(jù chàng), 路車(lù chē), etc., can be cross-refer with related classics and bronze inscriptions to study about conferral of gifts.Based on previous discussions by scholars, this paper aims to make explanations and textual criticisms for each sentences, and compare it with other related investiture inscriptions, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of this precious article.
