　　　　　網際網路(Internet)的擁護者認為，Internet將成為企業進行商務及交易的最重 要基礎設施之一；可是實徵研究結果顯示，大部分的企業在採用 Internet 的態度上仍然保 守，部分已採用者仍屬小規模的試驗。為理解上述有趣的弔詭現象，本研究從檢視新興資訊 科技的浮現 (emergent) 特質入手， 提出技術關連性 (technological interrelatedness) 的新概念，也就是組織整合在不同時點所採用的技術以產生綜效的可能性。植基在技術關連 性的一個推論是：在高技術關連性的情境下，組織過去投資所累積的技術若與 Internet 相 容， 潛在的綜效可能促使組織積極應用 Internet( 即技術累積 )：反之，組織過去所投資 的技術若與 Internet 不相容時，因缺乏綜效，組織可能沒有積極採用 Internet 的意願 ( 即技術負擔 )。本研究針對技術累積的情境進行探索性的實徵研究。針對我國 1000 大企業 進行的問卷調查結果顯示， 企業在 Internet 相關技術的累積程度與其領先採用 Internet 技術及普及實施等創新效能，均呈現顯著的正相關。
　　　　　Advocates of the Internet claim that they offer new ways of doing business that an innovative firm cannot afford to ignore. However, businesses have not adopted the Internet as widely and as rapidly as expected, reported in the literature. To explain this paradoxical phenomenon, we propose a newer concept of technological inter-relatedness. During a long process of technical progress, many related innovations introduced in industry may be adopted by a firm at different times. These interrelated innovations adopted in the past by a firm amy either complement each other in achieving synergistic effects (a technology accumulation case), or constrain the current adoption of a new technology for lacking synergistic effects (a technology burden case). We hypothesize that, in the presence of a set of interrelated innovations, firms will adopt those of innovations that can more easily be integrated with the existing technology that firms have accumulated over time. The results of an empirical study, using data collected from the top 1000 enterprises in Taiwan, support the hypothesis.
