     近年來消費性金融業務因獲利高、風險分散及市場需求擴大,所以借債的持續擴張已引起了負債對支出影響的廣泛關切。家庭支出不僅在了解整體經濟活動上有其重要性,就是在家庭福利水準的反應上也具有相當的指標意義(Wilcox,1991)。根據財政部金融局統計資料,民國八十六年十一月底本國銀行承作消費者貸款餘額達3兆3,187億元,為民國八十年底的2.7倍,占本國銀行放款餘額32.1%,近6年來提升4.4個百分點。  負債對個人及家計單位的經濟福祉(Economic Well-being)有顯著影響,而借債能力與借債意願又是解釋家庭借債行為的二大因素,但至今仍未有充分文獻針對借債能力及借債意願與負債問的關係進行探討。因此,本研究目的,乃是透過實證了解借債能力、意願及相關變數如何影響家庭負債的機率,並進一步探討那些因素會影響家計單位負債的多寡。本研究使用Heckman(1979)提出的樣本選擇模型以達到探討以上假說的目標。
