The primary purpose of this study was to analyze the teaching effect on different shot put styles. The subjects for this study were 23 male freshmen (age: 19.2±1.1 years, weight : 67.2±7.5kg, and height : 173.7±5.7cm) studying the Department of Physical Education of National Taipei Teachers College. The performances of side-twist, back-twist (change-of-step) and back-twist(glide) were measured after twelve sessions (600 minutes) of practices. The analyses of repeated t-test and One Way ANOVA were conducted, and the summary of results was listed as follows: (1)Their shot put records had significant improvement from 9.67 meters to 10.13 meters (p<.05). (2)There were no significance among the side-twist, back-twist I (change-of-step) and back-twist II (glide) of distance.
