耐久力(Hardiness)是一種人格特質，最早由Kobasa(1979)比較161名男子之「高壓力/低疾病」組別與「高壓力/高疾病」組別間之差異所定義而成。此人格特質除了影響個體對壓力源的評估與因應，亦與臨床個案及護理工作人員的壓力因應皆有關係，故為健康照護工作的重要概念。由於目前國內討論及運用該概念之學者仍少，本文嘗試以概念分析策略(Walker&Avant，1995)為原則，探討耐久力的心理學背景及本質的發展，以瞭解其定義性特徵。同時針對耐久力之內涵：控制 (Control)、承諾 (Commitment)、挑戰(Challenge)，以模範案例、邊緣案例、相反案例、相關案例舉例說明。實證研究文獻討論則希望能進一步提供國內耐久力未來相關研究之參考。

It was initially conceived by Kobasa inl979 whocompared the differences between men who had "high stress/low illness" personalities and those whohad "high stress/high illness" personalities and those who had "high stress/high illness''personalities.This personality characteristic influences how an individual to evaluates and copes with stressors.Clinically, it effects both patients and nurses coping with their stressors. Therefore, hardiness is animportant concept in health care. Yet, this concept has rarely been discussed or applied in Taiwan.The purpose of this study was to the apply concept of analysis strategies (Walker & Avant, 1995) toexplore the psychological background and evolution of core concept of hardiness. The critical attributesof hardiness.such as control, commitment, and challenge, are illustrated by cases including modelcases, borderline cases, contrary case, and related cases. In addition, the discussion about empiricalstudies was included to afford suggestions for future research.
